They say when you assume that you make an ass out of you and me. Kenton Mayson learned this lesson firsthand when he made assumptions about Autumn Freeman and the kind of woman she is based on what little information he had. What he finds out is she’s not only beautiful, but also smart, funny, a fighter, and exactly the kind of woman he wants to share his life with. Autumn made assumptions of her own about Kenton, and now he needs to prove her wrong in order to protect her and their future.
My review :
his book is the spin off of the Until series. (each book is about one of the Mayson’s brothers)
Kenton is their cousin, working with the police but not really, more in an underground mode. He’s got his own team and making special missions.
He helped his friend Link to protect Autumn, witness of a shooting at her work. The shooter escaped and she needed to go far away, for her safety.
The building of their relationship wasn’t easy: they both making assumptions about each other and they were so wrong about that : Kenton thought that she was only a beautiful woman, just a stripper and Autumn saw him as an asshole.
Autumn is so a strong, smart, wonderful character, fighting for what she feels right. She really amazes me by her behaviour. She is not an helpless woman, it’s sure.
And what to say about Kenton? Sexy, hot, smart guy, really sure about his feelings. He makes his own decisions and when he’s decided he goes for it! I think determination is a defining characteristic in the Mayson’s family! 🙂 Total caveman sometimes, but never like a ass, he’s more subtle! He is so terribly sexy! I love this character, absolutely one of my fav! When a Mayson man is in love nothing can come between.You don’t mess with their family!He wants be everything for her, to give what’s best for her!
Even, they were a lot apart because of Kenton’s job, they’re always connected, and their love getting more and more stronger. I love how she can relate to Kenton’s family and welcoming her as one of their own. She found a new family but also with Justin, a brother.
Behind all the seriousness of the story, they were a lot of fun, even hilarious moments between them : especially when Autumn threw Kenton’s bed on his ex’s car! The author knew how to alternate from rough moments to lighter ones and i appreciate this!
It was a great story and i can’t wait for the next books, i’am so addicted!! I really, really love it!
