“Dammit, Mona.” I leaned in closer inhaling her sweet scent and nearly brought to my knees with desire. I wanted to have her. Right here. Right now. I had to curl my fingers into fists to keep from reaching out, grabbing her and reminding her how it used to be between us. Her lids lowered and her breathing turned ragged. Was she remembering, too, or trying to forget?
“Go away, Linc.” Apparently the latter.
“Maybe I can’t,” I admitted my voice raspy with stripped down need. “Maybe I don’t want to.”
“Don’t.” She closed her eyes and her chin dropped. “Don’t do this to me.” She wet her lips. They visibly trembled. Even though I knew I had upset her I still wanted to kiss them. “I’m not one of your groupies easily flattered by your bullshit. The fact that you’re a big rock star doesn’t impress me. I know who you really are Lincoln Savage. I’ve seen you at your best and I’ve survived you at your worst. So don’t think you can come here and play games with me.”

Outside is a second chance romance, about the journey of Simone Bianchi and Lincoln Savage, through the experience of first love and heartbreak.
I really enjoyed the story beginning at the end, when Lincoln is back into Simone’s life.
After their passionate and intense summer love, with a lot of ups and downs, leaving them both destroyed, is she willing to give her heart again?
Simone Bianchi and Lincoln Savage are meant to be from the first page, when you read about them, you knew that their love story is gonna be epic. And it was.
Simone « Mona » is a young girl with a healthy family, and works at her father’s restaurant. Despite all she went through with her family; she’s trying to be positive. She’s tough, strong, and with a sparking personality.
Lincoln « Linc » has also a tough childhood and was trying to live his dream as a professional surfer. Charming, surfer god, he was fighting to have a brighter future.
When the two collided, it was intense and very quickly, they were drawn into their relationship, trying to fight for it. They have so many hardships to overcome, and trust me, the path for happiness was far from granted.
The intensity and passionate pull they shared was very well written, and it was sometimes a little bit overwhelming. Their background story was sweet, and poignant.
Reading about their past, when they fall in love with each other was beautiful and devastating.
Oddly, I was more interested by the present and the part about their past was too much extended. I know that we needed to know their history, but I was so eager to read about the present, to read about Lincoln’s attentions, how he’s gonna fight for her.
I didn’t say that their past wasn’t moving, but since the story started after 15 years, they definitely had a lot to catch up.
The first moment, when Linc laid eyes on Mona after all these time they spent apart was all the feels!
The writing was great, a story straight to the guts but I couldn’t really get into it. I felt like something was missing, and I was a little frustrated by Linc’s behavior, but I can’t wait to read about the other members!
