I live in Texas where I spend my free time writing and reading. My favorite authors are Mindy Kaling & Jonathan Safran Foer. I’m a comedy geek and love all things funny. Women like Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, and Mindy Kaling are definitely the biggest inspirations for my writing, though I think my work tends to skew a bit smuttier than theirs.
R.S. Grey is the kind of author who can write entertaining, fun and sexy romantic comedies. When Lilly Black and Dean Harper were in the same room, you can feel the air charged with electricity and intensity! So game on!
So what happened when a feisty, strong woman, very talented in her job, met one of the promising restaurateurs, Dean Harper, who his career matters more than everything else? A terrible mix, like oil and water!
These two didn’t get along and even with the strong sexual vibes emanating, they can’t be a couple, first, they can’t stand each other, two; they can’t stand each other again , three; the age difference.
Lilly Black is Josephine Keller’s best friend. She moved to New York, hoping to find her dream job. Her chance to succeed is working with Dean Harper, who is the best friend of Josephine’s boyfriend, Julian Lefray, but her soul is not for sale; especially with a control freak and arrogant man. Their first encounter didn’t end well, with a strong envy to murder him; so it wasn’t love at first sight! She speaks her mind, confident, and with a hot temper! Utterly different from the women Dean used to date. She’s attracted to him, and resisted as much she could, and it was hard!
Dean Harper, the control freak, workaholic , but so sexy and smoking hot. He’s not used to be driven and when he crossed Lilly’s path, it’s for the worst but also the best. He recognized her talent, but her sassiness was sometimes too much to handle, confusing him, he ’s attracted to her, but couldn’t past over her temper, his career was what he had to focus on. Lilly was distraction.
For the sake of his partnership with his best friend Julian, they have to work together; and « out of sight, out of mind » is their motto!! Each time together increased the tension until everything exploded, with no turning back.
Even the fun side and hilarious side, there’s some important points made, concerning Dean’s career, and maybe being successful isn’t worth it when you have anyone on your side? But can Lilly be tamed or is it the opposite? Can they both mix business and pleasure without getting hurt?
I really had a great time with these two, so get ready for a charming, hilarious story with a hint of spice and a lot of anger … and sex! The author did a great job about the build-up, but the moment when these two became more than friends was little rushed and I wanted more deepening on these part.I really appreciated that they trying to get along for their friends, but just cannot stop their true colours from shining through. Lilly and Dean are definitely memorable and explosive characters, totally unconventional, with a mind-blowing chemistry!
