Once again, Julia Kent made me smile, laugh and swoon! Most of all : this book is freaking hilarious but at the same time a little bit emotional.
I had a great time reading Shopping for an Heir, this story about Gerard, the McCormick’s chauffeur.
Gerard is a former Navy seal and working for the McCormick’s. In his free time, he teaches art classes, sculpture. A mysterious and secretive man that no one could break.
What happened when Gerard received some stunning news?? Inheritance paperwork served by his ex-girlfriend? A chain of abnormal and hilarious events, leading the former Navy seal, to reconnect with the love of his life for the better and for the worse, thanks to some matchmakers.
I’m amazed by Julia Kent’s creativity, and how she could write about something so hilarious, with this witty banter, right hint of emotion and make it almost real, and totally believable.
Gerard and Suzanne were lovers and ten years later … the flame was still there, and sparks will fly! Secrets was what kept them apart all these years.
Both had never moved on and Suzanne was trying to date but was very unsuccessful, and I was laughing so hard about her dates. She is strong, successful and as a former navy seal, totally intimidating. Her weakness?? A certain Gerard who left her ten years ago.
Gerard, is the most sexiest chauffeur, taciturn, broody and very secretive about his life. His professionalism and background military made him the perfect guy for the job. Surrounded by some colorful characters and crazy art students, he was living his life as the McCormick’s handyman. He had some scars on its own and I was very glad to know more about the guy, to see him in a different light.
I laughed so hard while reading Gerard’s story, so hilarious! There was some priceless scenes in here and I was so entertained! Despite all the comedy aspect of the story, I really appreciated the sarcasm and banter, the mix of fun and emotional part and how the author managed to keep us interested from the beginning until the end.
This series is just amazing!
