Synopsis:
From international bestselling author Monica James.
My name is Lucy Tucker, and my life…it was perfect.
I worked the dream job. I had the most incredible family and friends. My home, Whispering Willows, a ranch in Montana, was everything I could ever wish for. My adoring fiancé, Samuel Stone, loved me unconditionally.
I had everything a girl could ever want.
But one fateful event shattered my perfect life. It’s unimaginable how simple, ordinary words can change a person’s life forever. For me those words were, “There’s been an accident.”
I thought Sam was my forever, but that forever came to a close the day Saxon Stone, Sam’s identical twin brother, came back. Saxon returned to Montana to help save Sam, however, the moment he entered my life, he turned my world upside down. But through chaos I somehow found clarity—clarity of who I was meant to be.
As time progressed, as seasons changed, and as a fire began to burn, I soon realized that Saxon was there for another reason…he was there to help save me.

This was my first book by Monica James.
Well, I don’t know where to start… a woman, Lucy Tucker had everything, the word “perfect” in the blurb should have been a warning to me. Big one.
From the first pages, I was already sure about how this book will end, and some of the drama in between. I remembered writing aside all my thoughts, and I was almost so right. This kind of ruined the book to me.
The blurb sounded to me like something very strong, I was ready for the emotional ride. This woman got it all and one day her world turned upside down. Began the confusion and mostly some revelations about the heroine, her ”Prince Charming” (Samuel) and his family throughout the story. Well, it’s kinda twisted.
I was expecting emotional and for sure it was to me a little too much, over the top. Adding the overuse de drama, I was too far long gone. Even if I wanted to DNF the book at some point, I kept reading just to confirm if my theories were right. Oh my they were… when one drama started another one came.
It was just exhausting and I was tired. Struggling that much, just for one book, I gave up. Life is hard but damn in that story, they really got it all.
I couldn’t relate at all with the characters, I felt “trapped” in this story, in this love “triangle”. The one character that I felt some sympathy about was Saxon, Samuel’s twin brother. This man endured so much that I wanted the guy to get away from this place and to find happiness in another story. (Run, Saxon, run)
The heroine was struggling about her feelings, confused, utterly lost and having some debatable choices. The ending… it was the icing on the cake.
Instead of having a heartbreaking story where the characters’ hearts had been shattered to pieces and then you can sense that the storyline is leading you somewhere, it was the opposite, one step forward, ten steps backwards. It was repetitive.
The author managed to get a reaction and make me feel. Some would be moved, some won’t. One thing I know for sure that this story is not for me. At all.
