When it comes to relationships I’ve been told I’m a little . . .
Cold.
Not unlike my undead heart.
But that’s a compliment, really, because I love all things zombie-related. Comics, television, and books. Video games, too. How can any guy live up to the fiction fantasy that consumes my mind?
Simple answer. He can’t.
It’s a contributing factor to the reason I’m single and living in the city at age thirty-four. I’m hard to get close to and even my cat doesn’t like to snuggle, but I’m perfectly satisfied with my life, career, and circle of friends. I haven’t met a man who comes close to slaying my heart, and I’ve given up the search.
So, when Matt Haywood crashes into my life with his muscled chest, lack of imagination, and know-it-all attitude, I’m not impressed. No, I’m more than perturbed. I’d rather he stayed out of my life, but that doesn’t happen. He’s the fallen fighter I don’t want to root for, but find myself anyway. He’s also wrestling his way much closer to my thoughts, hopes, and dreams than anyone before him ever dared.
There’s more to Matt than I first assumed, but we’re too different for this to work. Aren’t we? Then again, he’s fearless and brave and real. Maybe Matt holds the antidote to my undead heart.
Maybe I’m not so cold after all.
* * *
Mia thinks she’s cold, but my heart knows better, and I’ve made it my mission to prove her wrong.
I’ve gone up against the strongest of opponents. Fought for my life. But the battle I’m waging against the beauty and brains will be the greatest challenge of my life. Losing is not an option. Winning her heart is the ultimate prize.
I’ll prove to her how tough I can be.

This is not the first book I’ve read by Kacey Shea, and I felt like it was the first time. I’m always surprised by the balance of humor, sexy bits and definitely emotional ones, switching to one moment to another with such easiness.
I was expecting something less emotional, it just took me by surprise. The tone of book was really refreshing, keeping me interested, intrigued and entertained.
The heroine, Mia was so someone who I could relate to.
From her hobbies to her personality, I connected immediately. I liked to see something a bit different, a geeky girl totally assuming who she is, a bit hot-tempered and also with no filter.
She has flaws and she is stubborn, but not trying to please to people but well I wouldn’t have been interesting if there wasn’t some scars and some deep issues she had to work on. She is a complete person, passionate, kind but also at time infuriating.
I enjoyed the kick in her life, putting her out of her comfort zone, a guy who can push back harder.
Damn Matt was good… no pun intended. Maybe.
Mia found her match. The thing was how long would be holding the distance??
I appreciated Matt from the beginning. Yes he is hot, sexy… but definitely more.
His sensibility and sincerity was just… I was melting. Swooning a bit? Yes.
For a story that might have been seen as more light-hearted, I really appreciated to see that it was more to discover, flaws and all. They felt real to me and both of their scars and struggles were heartbreaking, and for once they finally found someone who accepted the other wholeheartedly. My Undead Heart was definitely a wonderful surprise. I enjoyed it from the beginning until the end.
I haven’t read this author but the book sounds good…nice review!😁😁
