I’ve met Lark in the first installment of The Guardian Protection series. Then I read the blurb and I couldn’t wait to hear about them. A tortured love story, a woman torn between two.
Seventeen years later, Lark’s life turned upside down when someone from his past asked for help.
Tensed, angsty at first, with such intensity. Lark and Mia drove me insane. Feelings buried deep inside, fueled with hatred, resentment for being the one left behind.
The atmosphere was charged with electricity, sexual tension alternating with the moments where the characters would have found that natural chemistry again and ones when everything got awkward, or messy.
After being separated for so many years and trying to move on in their lives, that explosive reunion shattered all again their hearts. Bringing back old wounds that never healed. I was captivated by this whirlwind romance, where two tortured souls have found their way back together again.
I enjoyed their interactions, fights and beautiful chemistry.
I might have taken some time to get along with Mia, the choices she made, but as the story unfold, I learned to appreciate this character, who in a blink of an eye lost everything.
In this story, the man is an alpha not afraid to take a chance and protect the one he loved. His woman is stubborn, feisty, bold and giving to their man some hard times. And I loved it.
A bit of action, some strong tense vibes, a lot of sexual tension, Lark and Mia had to learn from each other, with a lot of years to catch up. Ex best friends/lovers to strangers, their hearts never ceased to beat, to thrive for the other. It was such a beautiful symphony, only existing where the other were around.
I adored all the interactions with this bunch of friends, who protected their loved ones so fiercely, without hesitation.
I can’t wait to hear more stories about The Guardian Protection’s men. They are so many things to discover, more stories to be told. I love this series.
