Already book number 8… This time more like romance with a hint of suspense, when the heroine, Taylor was threatened and had been in denial until one of her friends got involved and injured.
The best man to keep her safe? Meet Landon, the smoking hot detective who was trying so hard not to get close to her. Too young and kinda forbidden to him. But the heart wants what it wants, right?
As the man of month contest kept going on, on its way to select M. August, Taylor seemed to have more issues to deal with. The one man she didn’t want to be tempted with was the one to protect her. And someone wanted to hurt her.
The more the investigation went by and the more Taylor and Landon developed more feelings and also showing parts of them no one had seen. Winning Taylor’s trust wasn’t easy but Landon wasn’t a man to drop out easily. He was the kind of intense and straightforward man.
The blurb sold me but once I read their story, I was a bit disappointed. I wanted something more intense. I got my sexy bite but the story felt rushed, it was just too easy. The tension should have been explored more, the investigation around Taylor’s stalker was just dropped like that. It was not enough.
This idea about the man of the month contest was really good but the more I read about this series, the more I felt less connected to some of the characters. I wanted though…
