Walk the Line, an all-new sexy standalone by #1 New York Times bestselling author J. Kenner, is LIVE!
Elena is too young for me, not to mention she’s my boss’s daughter and my babysitter.
That’s beyond complicated. And I’m not even looking for a relationship—but I can’t deny the attraction that sizzles between us.
I need to ignore it. A single dad, all I want is to take care of my little girl, do my job, and enjoy my friends. Anything more is asking for complications I can’t afford. Asking to be hurt again.
Trouble is, I want her, too. And when our flirty sparks turn to flames, I give in to temptation. Our secret fling is scorching hot, better than I’d even imagined.
But secrets get out, and I could lose my job and my reputation.
And I’m starting to realize she’s the one thing I’m not willing to lose.

I can’t seem to believe this series is finally over. I wanted to read Brent’s story for so long. When I knew who was going to be his match, I couldn’t wait to read it. I guess it was a good way to end this series, a beautiful journey between friends, when each one found love in the way.
Keeping The Fix afloat and making a way to turn into a viable business, not without some hard work with friends sticking together no matter what. A year with beautiful encounters, emotional moments that strengthened their friendship.
I had it say that writing twelve stories was a challenge, both by maintaining a certain level of constancy. I might have been more connected to some than the others but it was part of the game, right?
Ah Brent… single father with commitment issues who was falling for his boss’ daughter but also one his best friends. The attraction was clear but no one wanted to surrender. It just took one stubborn woman and great friends to make him what was in front of him. Of course his daughter and friends were his world, but in spite of this sense of stability, I guess he forgot himself in the way. A lonely life when he might wanted to share with someone who he truly loves.
Due to the length of the story, it was kinda difficult to expand Brent and Elena’s story without some shortcuts. The first part until the half was pretty good, when you could feel all the feelings they had for each other without admitting it openly. It was definitely hot, steamy and sexy for sure. They weren’t beating around the bush and that was so much appreciated.
The last part left me a bit cautious. I don’t mind when things goes at a fast pace and characters connected the same, but there were some things I needed to expand, like the relationship between Brent, his daughter and Elena. As much as I liked Brent and Elena as a couple, some things made me cringe a bit. Some things I wouldn’t assume when you got involved with a single dad. It was a little glitch but the ending was definitely so much better.
I was glad Brent took a chance on love and found his HEA. This group of friends managed to keep this place they love. One final sexy bite I enjoyed reading. It was great adventure and a challenge. Regardless of some ups and downs throughout the series, I appreciated this idea, people who fought for what they loved, united in a common purpose.
