The fadeaway was a fun, catchy and surprising read. A new adult sorry not as light-hearted that it sounds. And I really appreciated it.
I have to admit that I was a bit taken aback by the crude tone at times, heavy on the innuendos… but I got it but still I had to adjust a bit. I guess I was. And I’m no prude LOL
Anyway, I enjoyed the challenge, watching the popular jock working harder than usual to be with a woman was pretty entertaining. Nothing would have stopped the guy for trying. I found it pretty cute at first. Joel was more than meet the eye, beneath all his attitude, and his lifestyle. It took one woman to shake his world and let’s just say that he wasn’t expecting it when he pursued her in the first place.
Katrina was such a brave woman who had to deal with so many things, having responsibilities for so long that she forgot to loosen up a bit. Missing a bit the university life, a bit out of touch but still standing in spite of the hardships she had to overcome. She was a single mom who didn’t need the favors of Joel, adding more complications into her life.
It was pretty entertaining to watch their game of back and forth. Katrina’s willpower was going slowly through the window. There was this one tense connection between them but would it be enough? Joel who seemed to swear off relationships were more deep than he thought he should be. Surprisingly, he fitted so easily into Katrina’s life, with her son. Maybe too much.
As two people who had such different lifestyle, they made it work wonderfully. They both have their fears and deep scars that made them wary about falling in love and give themselves entirely to another. It was more mature than it seemed to be and Joel was a really great surprise.
