This new enemies to lovers romance written by R.S. Grey was quite the entertainment, with some strong angsty vibes, a banter of love and hate, and here we go reading Taylor and Ethan’s story.
What about a really bad start, involving a powerful connection, a hot encounter and some situation that lead them to be enemies.
Taylor has been struggling all her life. She had to be tough and strong and find ways to keep her family safe. I appreciated Taylor’s character, a strong woman, fierce and never backing off. Behind her hard shell, was a woman who wanted to find her happiness in her own way, for something real.
Ethan was invested in his job, on the ground acting as the principal contractor at Lockwood construction. Very secretive and also not keen on sharing his feelings or showing how he really felt. The only one who could push his buttons like no one else was Taylor, infuriating him to no end.
I took me a little while to warm up to Ethan and to the story. Cold hearted, and not really open minded about Taylor’s reasons or background, judging her while she had to fight back and prove that she could do it. All the miscommunication and issues were a bit dragged out.
For most part I enjoyed this book. I adored their chemistry, the sexual and angsty vibes. I guess Ethan really won me over after the end of the first half. After that, I was rooting for these two until the end. What I appreciated the most was the banter. Definitely. And Taylor.
