I adored the Chicago Rebels series, about those three women who after their father’s death inherited of this team, joined by an openly gay GM. This is unusual for sure and the choices they made to bring this team to the highest level was also interesting.
In this spin off, introducing the rookies, please met M. Grumpy, Levi Hunt. Too bad tempered and too uptight, as he seemed to show the world. His history was really something people could be curious about it.
A former Green-Beret who decided to join the military instead of following his promising hockey career. And years later, he became one of the oldest rookie hired by the Chicago Rebels. Everyone was intrigued by him. Behind this cold behavior was hiding a selfless man but still wounded and tortured. A good guy actually.
Here came someone he knew to create a profile and show to the world who he really was. But how to crack this man who wasn’t willing to share part of himself? Jordan Cooke had one hard job with that one. Especially when you could sense the animosity and tension between these two. I appreciated how tough she was, working in this field when women were sometimes being judged and not recognized as their equals.
