Blurb:
“Bully to the highest degree. Heartless Hero is a must read for 2019.” Sarah, Musings of the Modern Belle

There are rules to being Abigail Crowne’s bodyguard, rules to watching the infamous billion-dollar heiress, otherwise known as the Reject Princess.

Never forget your place, always put the Crowne name above all else, and never, ever hurt the Reject.

Especially don’t torment the Reject.

Even if she is a spoiled brat.

So when an opportunity presents itself to punish her, you definitely shouldn’t take it.
Then again, Abigail loves to be tortured, and I’ve waited patiently for revenge.

I’ll keep her safe… with cruel protection.

Love is off limits with Abigail Crowne, but no one said anything about hate.

Excerpt:
“I’m not like your other guards, Reject, you can’t scare me away. Your secrets are mine.”

He took another step. “Your mind is mine.”

My back bit into the wood. “Your body is mine. How else could I protect you?”

A moment passed forever, all too aware of his body pressed into mine. I tried to control my face, not let on how unnerved I was. Protect me? More like destroy me.

I gave myself away with a hard swallow, and Theo stepped back, a cruel smirk on his lips.

“Get dressed,” he said.

“So you can make mom hate me even more? No thanks. I’ll stay here.”

Today was one of my most favorite days in the entire world, but if Theo wanted me dressed, instinct said I should do the opposite.

A cruel smile passed his lips. “Scared?”

“No. I’m just not in the habit of listening to my bodyguards.”

“Get dressed, or I’ll dress you.”

A ripple of excitement raced up my spine, one I quickly disregarded as shock. “You wouldn’t dare.”

“Want to test me, Reject?”

About the Author:
I started writing the moment I could read. My first characters were Wibbley and Squig and I used MS Word and clipart to bring them to life when I was a kid in elementary school. I started seriously thinking about being a writer in High School and I remember the day exactly, because it was such an epiphany. I was always so uncertain. You know how everyone was always asking what you wanted to be when you were older? Well I NEVER could decide.

I wanted to be a marine biologist.

An actor.

A FIRE FIGHTER (thank you Joaquin Phoenix in Ladder 49 for that phase).

One day it hit me—A WRITER. I could do it ALL. Then you couldn’t stop me from writing. I penned my first novel at fifteen (but don’t ask me to show it to you, because it’s like I was in competition to beat the thesaurus).  When I was diagnosed with a chronic illness, writing became even more important, because it became my therapy. When I wrote my characters, suddenly I wasn’t so alone.

These days you can find me daydreaming about where to travel with my husband, singing in my car, or lost in the newest K drama. And planning my next novel, of course

This is not a secret, I’m a huge Mary Catherine Gebhard’s fan. From the first book.

I’ve always been drawn to that darkness she brought into her stories, writing about tortured souls, with that high level of angst, reaching deep down the characters, when they argued fiercely, tormenting the other with such passion, an addicting feeling; just to see how far the author would put them to their very limits, by breaking and healing them piece by piece.

Heartless Hero didn’t disappoint at all; it was cruel, cynical, dark and twisted, with a subtle approach on the psychology of the heroes that could strike every sensitive mind. As you might guess, I’ve been moved by this story.

Abigail and Theo didn’t beat around the bush, they loved as much as they hated and fought with one another, with untruthful elements planted in their hearts. An ambiguous relationship between these two best friends who were torn apart by the sick games of Abigail’s family. To preserve the legacy and status. Scandal was never far when it came to her.

Abigail was the outsider in her family, always coming last, a reject and rebel whose reputation precedes her. Damn if it broke my heart, she was slowly sinking into darkness, to that life when she had to maintain her family’s expectations and to be messing up by their siblings with cruel games was her reality. I adored this character. She was tough as nails, with that side of someone who didn’t really care, looking for her family’s approval. She was so much more than that image of a reckless heiress. And she proved it in every step.

It took one outsider to recognize one. Theo was a man full of contractions, cold hearted and bully one second and the other the total opposite. A man who was seeking revenge and ruining the only girl he ever loved, by ripping her heart pieces by pieces until she had nothing else. I’ve been very intrigued by this character, whose heartless side was so well written, like I couldn’t wait to peel all the layers. I was just captivated and lot under the spell. A man who wasn’t afraid to show who he really was and not afraid so, who was capable to love and to destroy in a heartbeat. Ruthless to the core and hiding his feelings in plain sight to protect her, totally struggling about his feelings and was best for her.

These two together… just explosive and addictive. How was it possible to come back for more?

The author managed to bring all those feelings and characters to life, so beautifully broken but shining so bright together. It was more than smoking hot it was consuming and straight to the guts. When their hearts were at war, surrendering but nor totally compelling, I was so rooting for them. The princess reject and her bodyguard, against all odds. Just wanting them to find their happily ever after, I’m a romantic after all.

The author surprised me with Heartless Hero. I’ve been up most of the night to finish their story. I just couldn’t put it down. Like I told you before I was addictive. The words put on paper were carefully chosen to make the characters bleed or happy and I wouldn’t change any of it.  They made my heart race, feel so much. It was just mind-blowing!

Definitely one of my favorite reads of this year!
