⭐️ New release – SOMETHIN’ ABOUT THAT BOY by Lani Lynn Vale ⭐️

Release Date: June 23

Banner Spurlock knew the moment that he walked into Kilgore High School and saw Perry Street that life was about to get interesting.

Forced to move due to a problem at home, a problem in the form of his ex-best friend hating him for something that Banner’s father did, Banner doesn’t think very much could improve in his life.
He left his status as king of Benton High School behind and moved to a new school where not only would he have to try out for a new football team and prove himself, but he’d also have to find a place for himself in the hierarchy.
Only, the moment that he arrives, he knows that finding a place for himself won’t be too hard. Especially when his reputation follows him all the way to Kilgore, Texas.

Perry Street hates school. She hates her peers—most of them anyway—and she hates her classes. All she wants to do is finish her senior year, graduate, and find a place that will give her a full scholarship so that she doesn’t have to be stuck here forever.

That’s her goal, anyway.
Then she walks into first period, on her first day of her senior year, and sits down. Seconds later, he walks in and changes every single plan she’s ever made.
It isn’t long before Perry starts to fall for the bad boy who doesn’t care who he does and doesn’t impress. The boy makes her heart flutter. The boy makes her want things that she’s never wanted before. Not ever.
The boy brings trouble with him that nearly kills her.

I adored Perry and Banner’s story. It was nice for a change to read YA from Lani Lynn Vale and she did it great. You got the angsty vibes, tons of swooning and also young people who acted like their age but also a bit mature, some drama along the way but still their story… just melted my heart.

Banner has to change school and starts his senior year, with the hopes of less drama and crazy ex best friends. He is here to get away from troubles and not really care if he will become popular or not. Just doing his own thing, playing football and finishing school. Meeting her isn’t what he expected but so much more. Banner, that guy with a big heart who has met his match with Perry.

I adored this character who wasn’t a damsel in distress, not giving a damn about popularity, being an athlete and focusing on it. She is a bit grouchy, honest and caring. Her relationship with her parents was amazing and her father, just priceless. We totally understand when she got her badass side. She is working hard, not trying to be among the popular and please people, they have to accept like she is. Not perfect, just herself.

I definitely had a crush on these two, misfits who just wanted to live their dreams, true to themselves. Their chemistry and banter was amazing, sweet and hot and undeniably so cute and charming. Of course they were having issues of their age but surprisingly it wasn’t that much teen drama on their side.
They acted not like immature people, they made sense to me, about their fears and aspirations.
Also they had their heads on their shoulders, thinking before acting, even if they were a little hot tempered at times.

The little glitch was the reason why Banner had to change school. It felt like a huge thing, a subplot going on but it went as fast as it came. It felt too easy for me. I wish something different for that part.

Anyway, I adored reading about Perry and Banner falling in love and achieving their dreams. They might not agree on it but they accept their differences and make it work.
While I appreciated the other stories from Lani Lynn Vale, this one is by far my favorite.
