I enjoyed reading this story. A couple who had so much love for the other but sometimes it wasn’t enough. A second chance story about two people trying to find their way as a couple but mostly as individuals. Natalie and Simon drifted apart throughout the years, lovers and partners, supposing to be each other’s rock and their story showed how nothing has to be taken for granted.
When the ex-husband became one of the eligible bachelors in town, co-parenting with his ex-wife and finally fighting for his family and wife, well it’s hard not to fall for the guy. Simon is a workaholic and thought that his work was proving what was best for his family, totally not noticing that his own marriage was slowly going down, his wife was miserable and he was not even aware of, only focusing on the company.
When his wife asked for divorce, he just let her go.
Too tired to fight and mending her broken heart, Natalie was trying to balance her life as a single mother and her aspiration to make something on her own, maintaining a cordial relationship with Simon for her daughters. She never ceased to love him but it was too hard to try alone.
It was interesting to read this story that started with a divorced couple and step by step find their way back to the other, fighting and working for it, the two have their own reasons and part of responsibility.
The story felt a little domesticated but showing a couple in their everyday life. It was great to see that part.
I was glad to see how these two were trying to focus on their family but also being more responsive to each other’s needs and struggles. It was a great experience, full of emotions, sexy and so swoony at the same time.
It showed the difficulties in a relationship and made the readers invested in the couple’s journey for their happily ever after, at their own pace.
