Timing is everything.
Presley Hale and Sebastian Vargas are no strangers to goodbye. Their high school summers were spent wrapped up in each other until she would inevitably go home to California. One season after college, Sebastian finally escaped the little Texas town to travel the world, and they said goodbye for what they thought might be the last time.
Sebastian went one way. Presley went the other.
For the first time in five years, they’re both in town, but the timing is no better than ever. So the only thing to do is what they do best. Keep it casual.
Friends with benefits.
They’ve done it before—doing it again will be easy.
But their hearts don’t get the memo.
When the lines of their arrangement blur, Presley and Sebastian are faced with decisions they’ve avoided for years. And that’s not even their biggest problem.
A small town in danger of failing.
A secret that could tear them apart.
And two hearts that can’t hide anymore.
They’ve shared so many summers, but none compare to what they’ll face.
Timing is everything.
And their time is almost up.
Staci has been a lot of things up to this point in her life –a graphic designer, an entrepreneur, a seamstress, a clothing and handbag designer, a waitress. Can’t forget that. She’s also been a mom, with three little girls who are sure to grow up to break a number of hearts. She’s been a wife, though she’s certainly not the cleanest, or the best cook. She’s also super, duper fun at a party, especially if she’s been drinking whiskey. When she’s not writing, she’s reading, sleeping, gaming, or designing graphics.

And I really, really didn’t want to.
*** ARC KINDLY PROVIDED BY THE AUTHOR IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW. ***
Small town romance who took me by surprise in the beginning but frustrating me tons on some parts.
Some arcs were well rounded and developed, showing how the author could make you swoon and smile just like that. Emotional and sincere.
It started greatly. I adored the beginning, punchy and funky, it made me smile right from the moment the two main characters met again.
Presley and Sebastian never had the right timing. That moment wasn’t an exception but somehow one secret turned their world upside down.
When their hearts didn’t get the memo and got involved deeper than they could have imagined, you knew for sure that this recipe would maybe turn into a disaster.
I really enjoyed the main characters and their families. This small town was full of charm and I could feel how much they loved it. To preserve the local businesses and their families.
I appreciated the natural chemistry and joyful banter, their devotion to their families and friends.
They did make a great pair, truly loving each other but so bad when they needed to sort things out. Assuming more than telling the real thing when everyone could feel the love between these two.
I guess it could have been too easy and of course I didn’t mind some misunderstanding or miscommunication at some point but still I felt like it was too overstepping sometimes. Or maybe going in circles. I wished that I didn’t have to feel like the main characters were either sacrificing their dreams or being selfish at some point.
But still, I appreciated seeing them call out on their behavior by their friends and helping them to consider things in a different way. To push them a little when they needed to.
Overall it was a cute and sweet read.
