VANDER
“You belong with someone your own age,” she counters after a few intense beats. She pulls her hand away from my face and averts her gaze. “You deserve to find someone young and pretty without any complications. I want you to be happy. I want that for you so much.”
“My happy place is you.” I reel her into my body, clamping my hands on her lower back to stop her from wriggling free. “You make me happy. I don’t want any other girl. I never have, and I never will. I only want you.”
“Vander, please.” Tipping her chin up, she stares at me with tears in her eyes. “Please forget about me and find someone else.”
I shake my head. “It won’t happen. I can’t tell my heart how to feel.” Taking her hand, I place it over my chest, hoping she can feel the steady thrumming of my heart. “This is yours, Kendall, whether you want it or not. It doesn’t matter if you don’t claim it, it will always beat only for you.”

This story has an interesting concept about how love can transcend time and life no matter how many obstacles they have to overcome.
Love always finds a way.
Other than this, this reverse age gap/taboo romance was engaging, a roller coaster of emotions and passion. Vander and Kendall always meant to be but with a path filled with so much love but also tons of heartbreak and drama along the way.
I was immediately invested from the beginning. The author managed to convey emotions and give life to the characters so vividly. Showing that strong and undeniable bond that nothing would break. Totally rotting for these two, where they could find some peace and light together.
This story was heavy on emotion, kinda dark and twisted sometimes. The two main characters endured a lot through their lives. Vander felt to me like an old soul wandering through life until the moment he met Kendall.
I am conflicted about this. The concept was interesting with a surprising approach that I would have loved to see more developed instead of all the drama, providing excessive heaviness to me. It was dragged out and sprawling at times. Vander and Kendall didn’t need more to handle.
There was a moment when I felt like it was a long road. Juste made me lose the thread somehow.
The ending left me a little unsatisfied because I wanted more. However I enjoyed the author’s writing and storytelling.
