⭐️A Crack in Everything
I started to read A Crack In Everything and oh my, my heart just cracked a little, Evelyn and Dylan took my breath away, and the butterflies…the freaking butterflies.
In a place where everything seems dark and all you wanted to do is to escape from fatality, to live in a shit hole for your whole life, wishing for a brighter future, live Evelyn and Dylan, two young souls. One is sunshine, the other more more down to earth, bitter.
Soul searching, written with such openness and sincerity.
I don’t know how the author managed to give me goosebumps, making my heart race, just by writing on paper a story about an epic love. A love that defined time and space, something so pure, visceral, heartbreaking, and incredibly romantic.
I was addicted, consumed by their journey. Falling in love and finding someone who would complete you, and for their young age, it was something so moving because of its poignant wording, bringing feelings to life to such an emotional level. Something you can feel inside you, something that everyone wishes for, to matter to someone, to be this special one.
I might have swooned a lot, the chemistry between the characters was so palpable and intoxicating. I was utterly addicted to this scent, a powerful one that will make you feel so much, from the bad and good times, and when you close your eyes all you can feel is how much you experienced this journey.
I have to say that I needed a drink after all the heartbreak the author put me through. In so doing, it brought emotional and poetic intensity to a story that would stay in my mind for a long time.
⭐️How the Light Gets in
After an ending that left me totally heart-broken, I knew that the light would come up soon. I had high expectations because I adored the first book, and I binged read the second one right away. Here I am at almost one in the morning, writing my review because I couldn’t get them out of my head.
When I told you that their love defined time and place, I was definitely right. Evelyn, the one who would have seen the world in the light, was the one who needed to see it again, to find herself again.
And then it happened again, Evelyn and Dylan stole my freaking heart again. I won’t say that this one was less darker than the first one but saying them at another time of their lives and older didn’t change a thing.
The butterflies?? Check
The swooning?? Check
The epic love story that would make you head spin?? Check
The author didn’t make it easy, the chemistry was still there, the magic was still operating and I fell in love all over again with this older version of them. The girl who loved gardening and the boy who fell in love were still there, they just needed some time to make it grow again, to bloom.
My heart was beating so fast, I was overwhelmed. When things in life happened and even all the love you had for someone couldn’t change the way it supposed to be, like driving into two different directions, damn I wanted to cry.
Little by little, playing with my emotions (it was torture, trust me), a second chance for two people who never stopped loving each other. But was it the right time, to finally be what they supposed to be years ago? How could you be one day high school sweethearts and then the other day strangers?
I lost count about how many « Oh my… » I’ve said while reading it. Watching them being friends again with a lot of sexual tension and that magnetism that was off the charts, to this long wait of seeing them reunited consumed me.
Once again, I have to say that author found the perfect words to make the romantic in me swooned a lot, putting into words so much passion, intensity, sensuality and so much love.
My heart burst so many times…
I don’t mind a little emotional torture when I read a story like this.
