Blurb:
Millicent – don’t call me Millie- Merriweather has had a thing for Tom Franklin since she was twelve years old. At the time he was a senior in high school, which meant her dreams of being his girl weren’t meant to be.
Her thirtieth birthday is getting closer by the hour, but she’s still crushing big time on her first love. The problem is her childhood crush is now her BFF and Merri isn’t sure how to get out of the friend zone.
With a divorce under his belt, a Purple Heart stashed in a drawer, and a business to run, Tom Franklin chooses to avoid the dating scene. Besides, no one interests him the way Merri does. If only they weren’t trapped in the friend zone.
When Tom needs a date for a banquet recognizing his dad, he asks Merri.
With everyone they know cheering them on from the sidelines, the comically sexy misadventures of Tom and Merri begin.
What happens after that is a wild, laugh-filled, adventure.

“You asked what that picture means to me. It’s simple, Tom. I’m turning thirty. My biological mommy clock is ticking louder, and this house is too empty.”
“Are you asking me to move in?”
He knew the question was messing with her in a big way and wasn’t surprised when she howled with laughter.
Slapping her hands at her waist, she teased, “What part of mommy clock and an empty house translated into free room and board for you?”
“I can help with both,” he drawled and applied some stealth tickling that almost put her on the floor from giggling.
“Stop it,” she squawked and snorted.
“Don’t wanna stop.” He grabbed her around the waist and pulled her against him. “Today was the best day I’ve had in years. It feels good, doesn’t it? Admitting how we feel?”
“I admit nothing,” she sarcastically drawled before punctuating the statement with a sniff.
He chuckled. “You want me to sweep you off your feet. Is that it?”
The universe lit up with a trillion fireworks of happiness when the snarky imp inside her grabbed the spotlight. Until Merri, his life was boring and uninteresting, but now? Now, she kept him on his toes and thrilled him straight to his soul.
“What I wanted, Tom, was a first date that did not involve fifty old-time radio operator guys who will all queue up to spin me around on the dance floor.”
“Yikes.” He pulled a face and widened his eyes. She wasn’t joking. Men were drawn to Merri. Young boys at the school where she worked. Bikers and businessmen she met at the diner. Even the hilarious posse of senior citizens and aging tech geeks in a radio club. She had a vibe that was so friendly and encouraging, people flocked to her.
She relaxed in his arms and leaned fully into him. It felt natural and easy as well as incredibly stimulating.
Kiss her, his inner voice drawled. What’s the matter with you? Kiss her, goddammit.
His eyes caught her wetting her lips. He started to lower his head. Nirvana was within reach. Their lips almost touched until the doorbell rang and startled them into jumping with surprise.
“What the hell?” he grumbled. “Are you expecting someone?”
“Oh, uh,” she stammered as her face turned red. “About that.”
The bell rang again. Whoever it was had an impatient streak.
She scurried off to answer the door, turning at the last second to look at him. The mischief in her expression did the usual to his dick.
Opening the door, he did a double take when his mother came through it and greeted Merri with warmth.
“Merri. Don’t you look wonderful? Good to see you, hon.”
“Grace, come in.”
His mouth cranked open as his kinda maybe sorta girlfriend kissed his mother hello.
“Mom?”
“Oh, Tom. Good. You’re here.” She checked her watch. “I don’t have a lot of time. I’m on my way to church for the potluck dinner committee meeting. Merri said you wanted to talk to me?”
His eyes shot to Merri. She was standing next to but behind his mom. Her expression suggested she was enjoying his shock. When she mimicked a cat licking its paws and ears, he had no choice but to laugh and go with the flow.
Life with this woman was never going to be dull.

Until was a story about two best friends who explored the powerful attraction and connection by finally taking a chance on love.
Be ready to be served with a strong hint of dirty talks in that story.
Tom and Merri have been best friends for a long time but never crossing the line of friendship… until now, when Tom finally decided to take their relationship to a new level. I guess he finally found his BOOM and he was already one step ahead she was but never pushing her, willing to do it properly, just faster.
The main characters didn’t fool around for sure, Merri has a wild side buried inside that Tom perfectly knew how to sort it out. The oriented family guy wasn’t so proper that he seemed to be. I really appreciated their friendship and banter.
I’ve been a little thrown off by their interactions in bed. I meant that the dirty talks were a bit too much for at times. It was to me a bit condensed and I wanted them to explore more their new relationship, evolving as couple.
I had a great time reading Until Merri which was a fun and sweet read served with a strong hint of naughtiness.
